Dr. Mehmood Butt

Dr. Mehmood Butt is a UK-trained Consultant Interventional Cardiologist and the Head of the Cardiovascular Department at King’s College Hospital Dubai, bringing nearly 25 years of clinical expertise. He specializes in interventional cardiology, treating complex coronary diseases, multi-vessel blockages, and high-risk patients who decline bypass surgery. 

 His clinical practice highlights advanced techniques such as Coronary Shockwave Therapy, orbital and rotational atherectomy, and structural interventions including TAVI and PFO closure. He coordinates care through structured cardiac pathways, utilizing a radial-based catheterization approach that allows for same-day patient discharge. Dr. Butt is a Professor of Cardiology at Gulf Medical University in the UAE and a Clinical Professor of Preventive Cardiology at the University of South Wales in the UK, where he actively teaches master's program trainees.
